Immortals

I see something that stands tall for thousands of years,
I see something that stands weathered in rains and thunders of time,
I see something holding ground forever,
I accept, it has to be cosmic.

And then, I begin to pray to it,
I wish I could be like it,
And for matters dear to my heart,
I lock my faith in it.

Today as I stand here,
and see this wall aged more than two thousand years,
I realize the immense affinity of humans towards the immortals.

Immortals - legends or gods or just the walls,
Immortals - sun and moon or just the stars,
Immortals - that make us happy or leave us scars,
We like them, we pray them,
and we make them the guardians of our fate !!

When aiming for the sky

When aiming for the sky,
focus on your goals.

When aiming for the sky,
be strong and resolute.

When aiming for the sky,
open your arms.

When aiming for the sky,
forget the handicaps.

When aiming for the sky,
defy all the hurdles.

When aiming for the sky,
have faith and look high.

That Corner in our mind

In the race that is life,
as we tread along,
overcoming all the hurdles,
achieving all the feats,
challenging all the notions,
defeating all the myths;

why is it that a corner in our mind always looks behind,
to the past that was,
but is not around anymore?

why is it that a corner in our mind always looks behind,
losing itself in lanes of lost memories?

memories of the smiles scattered and the tears gathered,
memories that are crazy moments and stupid advents,
memories of the crowds and of loneliness.

Why is that a corner in our mind,
is part of us,
and yet not with us?

Footprint

In this world of black, white and the grey,
which color do you portray?

In this play of sun and the shade,
are you strong enough not to fade?

In this struggle for goodness and wealth,
are kindness & empathy your qualities stealth?

In this race with many turtles wise,
can you persist in midst of distractions & disguise?

In this soft, slippery sand of time,
will you leave your footprint behind?

[p.s. Had taken this photo sometime last year at a turtle farm in Tioman Island, Malaysia. That lining of small impressions is formed by footsteps of a turtle]

Beyond these walls ..

Beyond these walls,
of customs,
of traditions,
of rituals,
and of religions,
lies another world.

Beyond these walls,
of identities,
of relations,
of promises,
and of expectations,
lies another world.

Beyond these walls,
of stones,
of mortar,
and of solid steel,
lies another world.

Beyond these walls,
when you dare to see,
through that window of hope,
of dreams and of passion,
you will find an ocean,
with waves of opportunities,
roars of adventure,
winds of passion,
colors of success,
and glitter of achievements.

Beyond these walls,
a new world awaits,
go ahead, step out and embrace it :-)

Dream to be a Star

Every heart has a dream,
dream to spread the light,
dream to shine,
dream to rise high,
dream to stand out.

Every heart wants to reach the sky,
to play with the clouds of fame,
and to dance with the winds of glory.

Every heart wishes to be in a fable,
to be a part in the tale of times,
to be placed in the galaxies of the skies.

Every heart wants not just the limelight,
neither does it want to be just another spotlight,
but when darkness spreads and there is night,
it wants to be that star, which keeps shinning bright.

Solace

When you wish to seek solace,
leave behind the concrete jungle of worldly pleasures,
step down and come closer to the marvels of mother Earth.

Once you retreat to the charms of nature,
the sparkling blue waters and lush green meadows,
there will come a moment,
when you will live the ultimate miracle.

For just a few yards apart,
the son of the god will open his arms for you,
and you will see the path,
the bridge that takes you closer to him.

That magical moment is yours to embrace and cherish,
for it is the moment of your enlightenment, your solace.
